What is Techcor™?
Techcor™ Knitting Technology, recently developed by CMIG, provides an enhanced level of cut protection with gloves that are suited for both heavy duty and light duty Mechanical environments.  This is achieved through a unique selection and mix of high quality technical fibres which also provides extra comfort, flexibility and dexterity.

What is KEVLAR®?

Manufactured by DuPont, KEVLAR® is a lightweight para-aramid fibre with extraordinary strength and toughness. When used in Hand and Arm Protective products KEVLAR® absorbs energy, resists cuts and abrasion.  What´s more KEVLAR® provides exceptionally long wear life, heat resistance and dexterity for intricate jobs.  Weight for weight, KEVLAR® is five times stronger than steel and provides a cut resistance up to five times higher than that of leather.

What is Dyneema®?

Dyneema® is a high-performance polyethylene (HPPE) fibre produced using a patented gel spinning process that offers maximum strength combined with minimum weight and 15 times stronger than steel.  Dyneema® is highly resistant to water, sweat, odors and chemicals, providing a longer operational life for the finished product.  Dyneema® is the strongest fibre material in the world used for ballistic armour protection and when incorporated into gloves it provides a highly flexible, comfortable and high performing product that can be washed and re-used without any loss in performance.

What is Spectra® fibre?

Spectra® fibre is one of the world´s strongest and lightest fibres.  A bright white fibre that is, weight-for-weight, 10 times stronger than steel, more durable than polyester and has a specific strength that is 40 per cent greater than aramid fibre.  Spectra® fibre is made from ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene that is produced in a patented gel-spinning process.  Light enough to float, Spectra® fibre exhibits high resistance to chemicals, water and UV light, it also has excellent vibration damping and flex-fatigue characteristics.

What is Microban® technology?
Microban® technology is built-in to gloves during manufacturing to provide continuous bacterial and antifungal protection.  Microban® technology is particularly useful when maintaining a hygienic and safe working environment, especially in food industry operations where micro-organisms such as E Coli, Salmonella and Listeria can be present.

What is Thermolite?
Thermolite® provides warmth and comfort without weight, even when wet.  It´s the lightweight fabric that provides heavy duty performance, made with ADVANSA engineered hollow-core fibres that trap air for greater insulation.  It dries 20 per cent faster than other insulating fabrics and 50 per cent faster than cotton.  Gloves containing Thermolite® are the perfect layering glove as it´s comfortable and lightweight, allowing more freedom of movement.

What is DMF?
DMF or N,N-dimethylformamide is a clear solvent that often has a fishy smell due to dimethylamine impurities.  Its molecular formula is C3H7NO.

Aerostar Production
These gloves are made in our plant in Portugal which has a DMF free working environment.  When the gloves are dipped in PU our production process uses a water based, rather than a solvent based wash."

Aerostar in Industry
Aerostar is a high quality glove perfect for specialist component handling and finishing situations.  DMF free, Aerostar is the perfect solution for light duty applications, such as line assembly, product protection, powder filling and electronics industry.

What is PU?
Polyurethane foam (PU) is a spongy, cellular polymer which contains the urethane radical and is produced by a chemical reaction involving a polyester.

PU offers the elasticity of rubber combined with good toughness and durability which equates to a better abrasion and tear resistance compared to rubbers, while offering higher mechanical protection.

What is AlphaSan®?
AlphaSan® antimicrobial additive contains silver ions and offers active protection against a wide range of micro-organisms at low use levels.  AlphaSan® antimicrobial additive will not vaporise or decompose during high temperature processing.  Silver is well known as being safe for human contact and effective against a broad spectrum of micro-organisms that cause odor, discoloration, bio-fouling and other aesthetic problems.

What is Biogel®?
Biogel® is a thin inner coating of acrylate terpolymer. This smooth inner surface allows treated gloves to be easily donned with damp or dry hands without the need for a powder lubricant.  This eliminates the risk of powder-related reactions and can aid in ensuring a powder-free environment.

What is Elasthane™?

Elasthane™ or Elasthane™ polyetherurethane is a high-strength, aromatic thermoplastic.  Elasthane™ has a two-phase microstructure, consisting of hard and soft segments.  The soft segments allow the material to stretch many times its original length and then recover its original dimensions after tension is removed.  The hard segments act as physical cross-links which impart high tensile strength.  Elasthane™ has an exceptionally smooth surface and is also resistant to fungal growth.

What is Kermel®?
Kermel® is a smooth-surfaced fibre with an almost circular cross-section.  This circular shape makes Kermel® comfortable and very pleasant to the touch.  It has a very high resistance to abrasion and a thermal conductivity twice as low as any other aramid fibre.  Kermel® has an excellent resistance to chemicals and is naturally non-flammable thanks to the high proportion of double bonds within its chemical structure.
